A Custom Designed Memento for Sports Wall of Fame Inductee

July 18, 2018

In May, we were asked to design a pendant for Gay Dubeau, who was about to be inducted to the Medicine Hat Sports Wall of Fame for her dedication to ice sports over the past 40 years. Her family requested that the pendant resemble the star in her company logo, include platinum in some way, and also utilize the diamonds from a ring that had belonged to a favourite Aunt of Gay’s and were supplied to us by her family.

Our design team put their creative minds together to come up with a sketch of the design using the details and diamonds that the family had requested. The sketch along with the quotation to produce the pendant were then approved by the family, and we got to work ...

The main star was created with 14k white gold in a satin finish, and we created a special touch by setting the centre diamond in a platinum bezel.

Gay’s family presented her with the pendant at the Awards Ceremony in Medicine Hat, Alberta at the end of May, and the design and craftsmanship couldn’t have been more perfect. Upon opening the box, her family told us that the first thing she said was “That is my star!”… and then the tears began to roll. She was so incredibly touched that her family would recognize her years of hard work with such a beautiful, symbolic and sentimental piece that will be treasured by her, and by her family forever.

We congratulate Gay on her induction and are very honoured to have been asked to design and craft such a special piece for her.
